Test Server / Test Server Update 1.5.2 1.0

This update is still work in progress, as all of the mods are not in place yet, and there are a few bugs still.  Biggest one that I have found so far is a client side crash when looking at my iron tanks when those chunks load.  Not sure if it is related to the tanks, the liquids in them, or the piping.

Obviously all mods have been updated, but there are going to be a bunch of removals/additions.  The most notable one at this point is the removal of RP2.  I have added redlogic, which replaces the wires, lamps, logic circuits, etc, and Immibis Microblocks, which just replaces the microblocks.  I  I have also added NumiRP, which replaces worldgen, tools, and lamps.  NumiRP is a drop in replacement, and works on the existing blocks.  Redlogic and microblocks are not, and existing items will be lost.

The client is available for download and the test server is online to play around with.

General / Possibly dropping RP2

Due to the lack of inactivity on RP2 during the past year, I think we need to consider dropping it.  Most of the functionality can be reproduced with other mods, but of course it will not be a direct replacement, and all existing setups and items will be lost if RP2 is removed.  I would like to get some feedback on this before I move forward with it.  If no one has any serious issue with removing the mod, then we need to start preparing to live without it.  This means removing it's use from your setups.

I am going to be looking into replacements for things like microblocks, lamps, wiring, etc.  I already have a pretty good idea of what those replacements would be, but mention something if you have a preference.  For world gen items (marble, basalt, gems), we will either use an existing RP2 world gen replacement mod, or I will just write one to create the blocks for the existing world gen items.  Seeing we only need the mod to define the blocks under the same block IDs and not actually modify world gen code, it should be pretty simple.

Seeing it looks like we are going to be waiting a bit for RP2 to update, I decided to do another update on 1.4.7 and include a few new mods that I have been wanting to add.  I also removed Mo Creatures.  It was just too much of a pain to try to get the spawns working correctly, for the little benefit it offered.  This means any items from that mod (i.e. scorp armor) will be lost.  If anyone has a real strong attachment to that mod, please let me know, otherwise we will just let it go.

I have also updated Dynmap to use the Sortex texture pack for the map.  The maps will be rebuilding over the next few days when no one is online.  I also added the swamp to dynmap due to the amount of work that has been done on that world.

Just posting a quick update about the server, as we have gone quite a bit of time without an update.  Most all mods have been updated for 1.5.1 with the exception of Traincraft, Soul Shards, and Red Power.  The main one being Red Power.  I have been waiting for RP to update, so I can get the test server updated.

We have had several issues where the server has shutdown on it's own.  This has been done due to the CPU temp.  It is a 6 core AMD FX processor, and it just has the stock cooler.  The server normally runs 1 VM and 3 MC servers.  This causes it to run at around 70-75 C.  If the server experiences any additional load it could hit the shutdown temp of 90 C.  For now I am leaving the test server off, as without it the server runs at 50-60 C.  I have ordered a new cooler, and should have it installed sometime next week.

One other thing is we are getting a number of nether portals popping up around spawn.  I am guessing these are coming from someone creating nether portals in mystcraft worlds, as those go to the overworld rather than the nether.  If anyone has a nether portal in a mystcraft world, please remove it.

I dropped Flans mod due to all of the performance issues we were having since the last update, and the number of items that mod adds.  Plus I did not believe anyone was using that mod.  If that is not the case, please let me know.

A lot of bug fix releases in this update, and for many mods it may be the last update prior to the switch to MC 1.5, which we will not be updating to anytime soon.

A few notable updates are the backpack HUD mod now displays icons for all armor items, and not just the jetpack.  The grav suite update added an adv jetpack, which holds 1mil EU, flys to 256 blocks, and also acts as a lap pack.  You need to turn on fly mode with the F key to turn it on.

The NEI plugins mod had to be dropped until it is updated.  It is not currently compatible with the current version of NEI.  So you may notice lack of recipes on some IC2, Forestry, BC, and RC items.

There were quite a few updates to GregTech.  Below is most of the changelog since the last version.  Note that there appear to be quite a few recipe changes.

Copying of Maps inside the printer is now possible (I know you can still craft copies, but hey! A printer is so much cooler)

Fixed that Recipe Bug mentioned above.
Added the Printer! A Device which can basically copy writable/written Books by inserting a Book, an Ink Sack and the Book you wanna Copy. It can also craft Books from 3 Paper and a Leather.
Added a Button to the GUIs of Basic Machines, which is enabling you to switch between Sided-Input and non-Sided-Input.
Fixed "Item-Output-Mode" of Basic Machines not being Saved, and so resetting to enabled all the time.

Added Plate Bending Machine also known as Bender. It can convert Ingots to Plates. I changed tons of Crafting Recipes, including Mixed Metal Ingots, Dense Copper Plates and almost every Machine. I won't add any Config to revert that massive change!
Added Circuit Assembling Machine. It is a Device, which produces regular Circuits cheaper, and is also a requirement for most of the higher Tier Circuits. As with Bender, I wont add a Config for that change, so don't even ask for it!
Fixed NEI-Recipe-Transfer-Rect in some of the Auto-Machines. I will have to ask mistaqur for the Names of the Recipe handlers for Macerator, Extractor, Compressor, Furnace and so on.

Added Wildcard-Damagevalue Mode for the regular Sorter. Just rightclick the Item. It can sometimes cause Render glitches! If thats the Case the GUI will become partially invisible, but you can STILL click all the Slots. When that happens take the Log and give it to the one whose Item caused that glitch, AND NOT ME!!! I cant fix other peoples broken Code. Especially not Eloraams Code, which causes an even more strange Errorlog.
Added the "Grindable-Only" Mode of the Type-Sorter (The Ore with the Gear on it), as not all Ores are really grindable *ahem* XyChorium *ahem*
Fixed OreDict-Unification-API not associating certain Ore Strings before postload happens. That Bug was happening due to my switch from stupid Listscanner to ultrafast Double-Hashmap (of which, one Map didnt have the Name of the Ore).

Added 3 more decorative Storages (note, that their mainpurpose is DECORATION and NOT Storage). You can craft them in a shapeless Recipe of the Metal encased Shelf.
Changed the Texture of the Advanced Safe, to look more safely. (what a pun)
Fixed Holoslots, which dont have a Click handling, to cause crashes (i.e. clicking in Electrolyzer on the Water Icon).
Fixed Recycling options for Cobble (seems ICē doesnt check for wildcard Values) and added several other things like Glass Buttons, Pipes (also Sandstone Pipes) or similar to the List.

Added Alloy Smelter. You can use it to quickly get Bronze/Brass/Invar without having to macerate the Ingots.
Added Automatic Canning Machine. It can can Food and it fills Cells. However it cannot fill Fuel Cans nor CFoam-Packs. Due to the Cell filling ability I removed all Recipes, which craft a Cell of X out of empty Cell + Ingredient Y. That means you must have that Machine to craft Uranium Cells, Plutonium Cells, Thorium Cells, Sulfur Cells, Calcium Carbonate Cells, Bio Cells, Hydrated Coal Cells, Water Cells, Lava Cells, Mercury Cells and so on.
Both Machines have an API to add Recipes unlike their other Mods counterparts (I know TE has an API for its Induction Smelter, but this Device is more meant to be an Alloy Furnace instead of an Ore Processor).

Improved loading time by applying wasRead() to the Advanced Config.
Added 5 old new Machines: Automatic Macerator, Automatic Extractor, Automatic Compressor, Automatic Recycler and Automatic E-Furnace. They are all crafted by adding a Conveyor Module to the original Machine.

Made Digital Chests and Quantum Chests only wrenchable by their respective Owner. This should prevent accidental mishaps of random people running around with Scissors Wrenches in their Hand (guess what happened recently...).

Main items of interest in this update are some of the missing mobs are back (i.e. squid, ghasts), and mystcraft dimensions no longer have time/weather issues.

The biggest update was with mystcraft.  There were a lot of changes to this mod, so please test what you can.  Existing worlds will still be accessable, but books have lost their modifiers, so they will need to be reapplied.  Also, seeing a number of the symbols have changed, this will cause some changes to existing worlds.  I hopped into Mining II, and there is number an instibility effect on it.  I am guessing this is because the eternal day symbol was probably removed, and possibly some others.

I may be able to clean up some of these issues by manually editing the nbz files for the world.  Please let me know what world you are having issues with, and what needs to be adjusted about them.  You also need to let me know the world # in question.  I would like to document and test these corrections on test before going to live.

The production server has been updated.  See the resent post on the test server forum for a list of changes.  Some highlights are multiblock structures for farms, the addition of tesseracts, the addition of Extra Bees and Thaumic Bees, as well as Flans Mod, Enchanting Plus, and Forge Essentials.

The map was also switched back to high res, as the alpha version of Dynmap resolved some of the performance issues we have had.

There are also a few issues.  We now have hostile mobs from Mo Creatures back, but there are still no passive mobs outside of the water.  Also some of the mystcraft worlds are having issues.  The always day worlds show as night, and have rain even though they should not.  Seems cosmetic mostly, as the solar arrays still run as if it were day.  This may be due to an incompatibility with Mystcraft and the latest forge version.  It appears he is almost ready for his next major update, and we will get it on test as soon as it is out.

Take note of the new mods as well.  The one I am on the fence about at the moment is Flans.  It adds a bunch of vehicles and guns.  The items from the mod are added in packs, so we can keep some items and not other if we choose.

Please try out the bee mods as well as the I want to make sure they work properly.

I have also made everyone ops on the test server.  This should allow you to spawn items in the game for testing.

I also switched the test server back to a high res map, and have it doing a full render of the overworld now.  The server is configured to pause the render when people login.  So the login may be slow, but after that it should be fine.

Also fixed Mo Creature spawns, so hostile mobs are back again.

Internet is being upgraded on Tuesday to 150 MB down 65 MB up.  For this we will be swapping out the router here.  When that occurs the system will go down for a period of time, as I will need to setup all of the needed port forwarding again.  It will probably be down for about an hour.

The test server has been updated to 1.4.7, along with a number of mod updates, which are listed below.  Quite a few changes in these updates.  Will post a few change logs to some of the larger updates below.  A couple of high points are IC2 server log spam gone, Dynmap made several improvements related to chunk loading (updates should be able to go back on), forestry now allows for tree breeding and fruit on trees, and Mo Creatures added elephants and komodo dragons (both of which can be tamed and mounted).

Please download the test client and try it out.  Post any issues you notice on this thread.  We will post this to production once we believe it is ready.

Both production an test servers are now being run with Multicraft, which is just an administrative wrapper for running MC servers.  This has allowed us to have the server periodically save to disk, nightly backups, and nightly restarts.  The restarts will occur 3:30 am PST, and there will be 3 announcements before it occurs.  The backup will occur at 4:00 am PST.  The server will remain online during the backup, but you may notice some lag.  The backup should complete within 5 to 10 minutes.  Another benefit this tool offers is automatic restarts if the server crashes.  This means you will not have to wait for me to notice the server is down, though I have not yet tested if it works properly.
