The server was updated to 228.0 tonight, which is the Winter Wonderland update.  Snow everywhere, but Mammoths right outside our gate.  Taming one now, so wood will become easier.

For some reason Multicraft has lost the link to the Minecraft servers a couple of times this week, which forced me to manually kill and restart them.  This has happened in the past, but not twice in a week.  I'll keep an eye on them, and hopefully it was just a fluke.

In case you guys have the game, and would be interested, I am currently running a server on the same system that handles Minecraft.  To connect to it just add theboard.synchro.net to your Steam favorite servers.  This can be done from the Steam main screen by selecting Servers under the View menu.  Then in ARK, just choose Favorites under the server selection.  The server will be listed as The ARK and the password is letmein.

Currently it is just my brother and I on it for our first play through, and we are still learning the game.  We started on the island on the SW corner of the map.  We are on the eastern tip of it.  I actually think we are very close to one of the default spawn points (W2?), but not positive about that.

Production server has been updated.  We are still on 1.7.10, seeing that is where the current mod support is at.  All mods were brought up to date, and a few new ones were added.  Some that I remember are RFTools, Pneumatic Craft, Draconic Evolution, and Immersive Engineering, though there are others as well.  No existing mods were removed.

Please let me know if you notice any issues.

New client just posted for the test server.  All existing mods brought up to date and added a handful more.  I plan to test this today and maybe tomorrow, and if no major issues come up, I'll be posting it to production.

Sorry, but it appears the ATI control center spun out again eating up all of the systems memory, which took the MC servers down.  They are back up now.

Update has been deployed to production.  Zip file contains new client folder as well as a new forger version.

Basically all mods were brought up to date.  We had to switch the server back to a standard forge client, as Cauldron is no more, and we needed the new version of Forge as the mods required it.

Oh, and the server status on the web page is not working.  It shows offline, but it is up.  I will correct that at some point.

Just posted a new client which can be used on the test server.  Everything has been brought up to date, and we added a few mods as well like Thermal Dynamics and Open Peripherals.  Seeing Cauldron is now dead, we had to switch back to a standard forge server, and in turn lost all bukkit plugins.  Fortunately forge essentials has been updated so that is now running on the test server, which will provide some of the functionality provided by the plugins (i.e. /spawn, /home, etc.).  Dynmap was also updated and has better 1.7.10 mod support, but is still not perfect.

Try it out and let me know if you notice any issues.  Also if there are any additional mods we would like to add, let me know.

We just switched the server from a straight Forge server to Cauldron.  This allows us to run both Forge mods as well a Bukkit plug-ins.  This change does not require any client update.  In this change we have also added a number of plug-ins i the server.  Below is the current list.

We have also added back the old 1.5.2 world to the server.  Currently it is always dark, as it appears to have The End enviorment, even though it is set to Normal.  I will play around with it more tomorrow night.

If you notice lag it may be due to chunk generation that is being performed tonight on the main world.  This hopefully will be finished within the next 12 hours.

Test Server / Cauldron

The test server is now running the Cauldron 1.6.4 server.  This is what replaced MCPC, and is basically what we were using under Tekkit.  Basically it is a combination of Bukkit and Forge.  Unlike previously, mods no longer have to modified to work on this server.  All existing forge mods should work without changes.  I switched the server from a straight forge server to a Cauldron server (running the same version of forge) and it started right up without having to change or adjust anything with the configs.  I did go ahead and drop Forge Essentials, as it will no longer be needed seeing we can now use Bukkit plugins again.  No client update is needed, so the current client should be able to connect to both production and test.

I am doing this for a few reasons.  One is I miss the bukkit plugins, as there was a lot more admin plug-ins for running a multiplayer server than the forge mods.  This will also make it easier to bring the old world back once I get multiverse setup again.

I don't know if we will actually move this to production under 1.6.4, or wait until we jump to 1.7.x.  I still need to check for current mod support, but Cauldron already supports 1.7.10.

I added a few plug-ins to the test server, including permissionex, which I have not yet configured.  So we currently have default config, which may or may not disallow some things.  I will play around with it some more this weekend.

Sorry that I haven't been on much, but we have been preparing for a move.  We will be moving at the end of this week.  I will be taking the server down on Wednesday, and it will be down until I get it to the new location and internet is up.  This will at the earliest but Saturday evening, but could be later.

The test server has been updated.  A lot of updates this time, plus a few additions.  Will post the details of the mod updates soon (hopefully).

I added a copy of the old world to the test server as well.  You can get to it via the new portal building.  It is the big one in the middle of the room.  It sort of works, though there are some issues (client crashes).  We will have to play around with it for a bit.

Did a quick release tonight to fixed a compatibility issue with AE and MFR that was preventing the server from coming up.  A few other mods also had updates sneak in, but not many.  Both test and production were upgraded to this version.

Another update was just posted to production and test.  I did not wait to load to production like normal, as the update seems clean, and I'm not sure what time I will have this weekend.

I'm too lazy to post all of the details of the update right now.  Most mods received minor updates.  Some items of note are Adv Solars are now craftable, and power suits consume energy again.
